THE YOUTH CENTER OF TEXAS. The Youth Center of Texas (Youth Center) is a 24-hour, 8-bedroom transitional living program for victims of CSEY ages 18-22 (Survivors) and their babies. We are the first CSEY-specific program in Bexar County and the second in the state of Texas to provide CSEY-specific transitional living support. The Youth Center provides emergency shelter, transitional living, specialized case management, care coordination, advocacy, clinical, legal, transportation, parenting, education, and employment support services designed to successfully transition Survivors into an independent, productive, and victimization-free life. Specifically, the Youth Center provides:

  • Emergency shelter and Transitional Living Program services.

JOB DESCRIPTION. The Program Aide – Night (PA-N) is responsible for ensuring that the Youth Center program policies and procedures are carried out in a professional, respectable, non-judgmental, and victim-centered manner. The PA-N reports to, and is supervised by, the Chief Case Manager (CCM). As the PA-N, you will be expected to:

  • Work independently with little to no supervision. Training will be provided; you will not work alone until the CCM has determined that you are adequately trained.
  • Complete the required Youth Center training, including TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), CSE-IT (Commercial Sexual Exploitation Identification Tool), Motivational Interviewing, and other trainings as required.
  • Complete multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-energy, and sometimes noisy environment.
  • Enter large amounts of data into an electronic database, e-files, and paper files while effectively supporting our Survivors.
  • Provide transportation services for Survivors as needed.
  • Provide basic care needs to the Survivors of the Sunflower Home Program, including showers,meals, and rest.
  • Complete and submit all required documentation in a complete and timely manner, as directedby the CCM.
  • Communicate and collaborate in a professional and courteous manner with our communitypartners to ensure that Survivors are receiving services in accordance with the Service Plans.
  • Complete housecleaning tasks such as doing multiple loads of laundry, vacuuming, bathroomcleaning, and dish washing. Janitorial services are provided, but Youth Center staff are expectedto assist in maintaining a clean environment.
  • Complete organizational tasks such as assembling new paper files, organizing office cabinets andclosets, and copying and distributing Youth Center fliers.
  • Other reasonable tasks, as assigned by the CCM.HOURS/SHIFT DETAILS. The PA-N is required to:
  • Work five (5) 8-hour overnight shifts per work week, scheduled to occur sometime between thehours of 5:00pm-11:00am. The Youth Center work week is Saturday through Friday. The shift schedule is developed prior to the start of each month, and we will attempt to schedule your two (2) days off on the same days each week, but it is not guaranteed. We are a 24-hour shelter and a request to have all “weekends off” will not be granted.
  • Remain awake and working during your assigned shift, regardless of whether Survivors are present at the Youth Center.
  • Work other hours outside of 5pm – 11am on a temporary basis in emergent situations.
  • Be reliable and on time. Tardiness and not showing up for shift without prior notice isdisrespectful to your team and will not be allowed.APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS.

MISSION. Our mission is to provide the holistic support needed to restore each survivor of commercial sexual exploitation into a life that is peaceful, productive, and free from victimization.

PROGRAM SERVICES. The Youth Center of Texas is an 8-bedroom transitional living program for female survivors of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE), ages 18-22 (“survivor”) and their babies. The Youth Center provides the following services:

JOB DESCRIPTION.

The President & C.E.O. (CEO) is responsible for adhering to the Youth Center mission and for ensuring that the Youth Center program operates in accordance with the funding agencies’ requirements and Board directives. The CEO reports to the Youth Center Governing Board. The CEO must be able to carry out the following duties in a professional and effective manner:

LEADERSHIP.

  • Demonstrate a servant leadership mentality that cultivates a trauma-informed, survivor-inclusive, professional, and culturally competent milieu that supports both the Survivors and staff within the Youth Center program.
  • Ensure all staff carry out the day-to-day operations of the Youth Center in accordance with its mission and values.
  • Provide the final decision on all employee hiring and terminations in response to the recommendations presented by the Chief Program Officer and in accordance with State and Federal laws.
  • Provide support to the Chief Program Officer as needed to ensure that payroll and benefits for all Youth Center staff is managed by the CPO in accordance with applicable State and Federal laws, Youth Center policies and procedures, and service providers.
  • Provide support to the Chief Program Officer as needed to ensure that security services are managed in accordance with the written contract and agreed upon policies and procedures between the Youth Center and the security agency, currently Alamo Security and Investigations.
  • Ensure that the Youth Center is operating in accordance with the lease agreement between the Youth Center and ChildSafe to include the timely payment of lease installments.
  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all Youth Center data, both in electronic and paper form.BOARD RELATIONS.
  • Develop measurable goals, in collaboration with the Board, that ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the Youth Center program, to include identifying and securing sufficient funding to meet the current and future needs of the program, carrying out efficient ways to build capacity, and employing a model of care that is trauma-informed and survivor-inclusive.
